The "Once Upon A Time ......." Story

It was an ordinary day. I recently found a manuscript that featured a few stories that were written by the author who goes by the "nom de plume" or pen name of "Mille". When I found them stuffed in a drawer of an old chest-of-drawers, I read and re-read them and found them quite interesting. The first one seemed like a mystery story which featured a large family. The ending of the story I will leave for you to discover. Oh, by the way, "Mille" is my eight year old granddaughter who occupies the "lighthouse" bedroom when she visits and who has a very vivid imagination. I am so proud to publish for the first time one of her first works. It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy. PS - Click on story to enlarge.
