The "The Search For A Ride: Part II" Story

It was an ordinary day,  Sitting in our new car learning about all the neat little things that we never had before.  The Blue Tooth feature which allows us to answer our phone with a push of a button on the steering wheel is neat.  Being able to hook up our MP3 device to an outlet in the middle storage unit is another neat feature.  Being able to push a button on the dash and put the car in "Econ" mode to get better gas mileage is a welcome addition.  And, being able to set all doors to open when the car is placed in park is a big

plus.  Well, we finally settled on a 2014 Honda CRV that comes standard with a backup monitor, sunroof, mirror what lets you see if someone is next to you in your blindspot and separate front seat armrests so my wife can't hog the center console when we travel.  The CRV is the only mid-sized SUV that has front seats that don't sandwich your butt between the side pieces on the seat cushion.  The  color of the car we chose was not on the lot so we had to wait until after our vacation to the Jersey Shore before taking possession of the car.  We did add a few extra items to the final bill such as a special coating that is not added on just about all cars that will prevent paint corrosion and keep the car bright for 10 years.  Also added more years onto the bumper-to-bumper warranty that now will give us piece of mind for 7 years with a zero deductible.  After all the paperwork was taken care of the salesman had us sit in the car and he proceeded to show and tell us all about the features of our new car.  When finished, he thanked us once more, got out and left us by ourselves.  Carol was in the driver's seat so I told her to drive us home.  Buckled up, put the car in drive and …… wait the brake is still on.  You think we could figure out how to get that brake off?  Had to go back into the dealership and have a salesman come out and show us how to release the brake.  I'm sure that won't be the only thing we discover in the next couple of days that we'll need to take a trip to the dealership to find the answer.  I'll tell you, it was tough to give up the Mountaineer and as we drove away from the dealership and took our last look at it, it made us hope we made the right decision, but knowing that we will more than double our gas mileage was a no-brainer.  Carol drove the car home and had little trouble pulling into the garage for the first time with the smaller car.  She hopped out of the car and took a photo of it to send to our daughter to show her what we purchased.  Brynn, our daughter, texted her back telling saying that it looked neat, but was wondering what the color was, since the photo was blurry.  Carol immediately replied, Cranblurry to which she got a reply of Ha, Ha!!  It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
