The "The Woods' Family Welcomes A New Member!" Story

It was an ordinary day.  Sitting by the pool at my brother Steve's house in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.  Carol and I were invited to visit for lunch as well as to see the baby.  Now, if you were a Seinfeld fan you would have to remember "The Hampton's Episode" which aired on May 12, 1994 when the gang made a visit to the Hamptons to visit one of Elaine's friends who had just had a baby.  The gang goes into the room to see the baby and after leaving the room Jerry says,"Is it me or was that the ugliest baby you have ever seen?" Then Elaine falls for the baby's doctor who tells her she is breathtaking.  Also used the same word to describe the baby.
Newest member of the Woods' family: John Matthew Woods
Well, anyway, when Carol and I arrived at my brother and sister-in-law's home, we sat by the pool waiting for the baby to arrive.  Wasn't long after that John Matthew Woods appeared.  Born one month before, he was a big boy who was breathtaking.  Nah, he was a good looking kid with beautiful blue eyes like his dad's wearing the neatest Phillies outfit.
Proud dad Matt.
John was passed from grandma Kathy to cousin Megan to ... just about everyone ... and then to dad Matt and finally mom Katie.  Matt and Katie told us how he cries all the time and screams most of the night.  Well, I'll tell you, John didn't cry one time or leave out a single scream the entire four to five hours we spent with the family.  He arrived at slightly over 9 lbs. on May 30, 2017.  Now, either his mom and dad weren't telling the truth about his crying and screaming or he was just so excited to see me that he was pleasant.  The Woods' family, as far as my brother and I go, now stands at 20.  If only my mom and dad were still with us, they would be so excited and proud of John.  He certainly has a great group of relatives to help him through his life.  Of course that is my version of the story.  And, you know, he really is breathtaking!!  It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.

And of course, proud mom Katie. Notice how he's screaming and crying.
