The "A Few Bits & Pieces From The Past" Story

It was an ordinary day.  Checking out a few of my reliable websites where I can usually find something interesting to share with you.  Sure enough, I did find a few items, but the stories to go with the photographs weren't quite as big as they usually are and this they don't take up as much room as my stories usually do.  So, rather than discard them and miss showing you a few bits of Lancaster County history, I just made it an additional story for today.  Check out the trio of photos and my descriptions that give you an idea of Lancaster in "Days Gone By!"  It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.

An engine leaving the original train station that was located on
what today is East Chestnut Street in downtown Lancaster.
Across from the station was the old Brunswick Hotel.  Many
happy memories from the past.

Edward Neff of Washington Boro ran his own taxi service
from Washington Boro to Columbia, PA  Circa 1920's

Approximately 100 years ago, Levi Yerger of Lititz, PA ran a very
successful business.  If this photograph is any indication, each item was
stacked and packed just right in order to ensure that noting broke
while being transported.
