It was an ordinary day. Heading to the mail box to gather all the Christmas mail that we have been receiving in the past couple of days. Some of the mail is bills while most of the rest is greeting cards wishing us a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I assume that you, too, recieve your share of holiday greeting cards this time of year. Many cards are discarded after the season has faded into the horizon, while others we have kept to be used as part of our decorations in the following years. Three such cards, which have been saved throughout the years, have all come from our friends, Jere and Just Sue who live in State College, Pennsylvania. I graduated with both of them from our alma mater, Manheim Township High School. After graduation from nearby Millersville State Teacher's College, Jere and I both returned to our alma mater to teach Industrial Arts. We both retired from Manheim Township in 1999 and then took time to travel together for quite a few years before medical problems have put an end to our traveling. As I was helping my wife Carol decorate for the holiday season we found a few of the greeting cards that Jere and Sue have sent to us in the past. Cards that are just so much fun and interesting that we would never discard them. Now that Carol and I are in our new home in Woodcrest Villa, we have displayed some of the cards that our friends have sent over the years. They are of the collapsable type which are so much fun to read and view just one more time. So...today you too will get a chance to see some of the most interesting and fun greeting cards.
