The "Christmas Card Photo" Story
It was an ordinary day. Opened up my email and found quite a few that directed me towards my Facebook page. Seems that quite a few friends on Facebook enjoyed a photo of me that was posted on my daughter's Facebook page. I kinda guessed which photo she probably posted that her friends were commenting about. Goes back to this past summer vacation that we spent together as a family. The last week of June every year, for the past half dozen years, my family has gathered at Ocean City, New Jersey for a week of fun in the sun. Have a great time together with my wife, the three kids and spouses and three grandkids. And, as usual, I take tons of photos of just about everything that happens at the house, on the boardwalk, at the restaurants and naturally on the beach. I figure if I take at least 1000 photos, I'm bound to come up with a few "keepers" for the digital scrapbook. Well, I think it was the last day on the beach and no one wanted to leave. Five o'clock came and the lifeguards packed it in and left the beach. Most of the other beach goers were packing and heading home when my daughter, Brynn, asked if she could use my camera to take some photos of her daughters at the lifeguard stand. Made sure she knew how to set it and off the three of them went for some good memories. After about ten minutes I couldn't take it anymore so I wondered over to see what they were doing. I saw Brynn facing the water with the girls on the lifeguard stand between her and the water. I walked up to the lifeguard stand and stuck my head up between the two girls and looked at Brynn just as she snapped a photo. The resulting photo was the one she posted on her page for all to see. And now, as you might have expected, you are getting a chance to see it also. Hadn't meant for it to be humorous, but I guess that is the way it turned out. And, I have included a few of the comments that she has gotten from her friends. I guess it does make for some comic relief. It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
