The "WILL IT EVER END?" Story

Foreword:  I'm bored.  Sitting in front of the TV listening to the bad news.  Snow for just about 24 hours he says.  I had already posted a story today, but so you can see what we are going through in the northeast U.S., I thought I would add another one.  Something to do to keep the boredom away.
Screen of my computer that features warm climate web cams.

It was an ordinary day.  Timeline: 8:58 AM, Thursday, February 13, 2014.  I can see the snow falling outside my office window, but Creamsicle and I are safe and warm as we sit in my chair looking at the screen on my computer.  On the left of the screen I have a live view of Orient Beach, St. Martin where it looks to be partly sunny with a slight breeze, but the bathers are sitting in their chairs in the front row along this beach that is called the St. Tropez of the Caribbean.  Wish I was one of them right now!
Predictions on my TV from local NBC affiliate.
On the right side of the screen is my live view of the start of the Princess Juliana Inter- national Airport runway which starts directly behind Maho Beach which is located in Sint Maarten (The island of St. Martin/Sint Maarten is an island in the Caribbean shared by the French and the Dutch).  The cars are driving across in front of the runway as beachgoers and pedestrians await the arrival of some of the largest aircraft on earth.  The webcam is sitting atop the Sunset Bar and Grill where Carol and I will be enjoying our mid-day meal in a few months.
Still snowing when I took this shot of our rear deck.
Making me wish I was there right now after listening to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours.  Constant snow!!  Across the TV screen last night was the listing of all the schools, businesses and government offices that are closed for today.  We seem to be right in the middle of the heaviest band of snow with 8-15 inches of the stuff expected before it stops late tonight.  I made a call yesterday to Kevin asking him to put me on his list for plowing.
This is a photo a neighbor took of the front of our house
a few years ago during another winter snowstorm.
Just too tough anymore to try and lift the heavy stuff.  Much easier to hand someone else the money than to feel the back pain for the next couple of weeks.  I know I will be a few bucks poorer, but I feel I'm much smarter because of it.  I can say I'm getting sick of this kind of weather, since I said that at least 3 weeks ago after that snowstorm.  The municipalities are running out of salt for the roads as well as patience because of the constant barrage of white stuff that falls from the sky.  WILL IT EVER END?  Time for some comfort food, so I'll be back soon after Creamsicle and I have our breakfast ………………

Timeline: 9:59 AM, Thursday, February 13, 2014.  Creamsicle had Turkey and Beef Pate and I had my usually cold weather comfort food, hot Nestle's cocoa and toast.  The snow is now falling at 2" an hour.  Soon the birds will be able to eat from the feeder while standing ON the snow.  This sucks! …………..

Timeline: 1:18 PM, Thursday, February 13, 2014.  Well, it's halftime!  That's what the weatherman said on our NBC affiliate in Lancaster, PA.
View from inside our front door.
We now have a break from the snow.  The temperature is 35 degrees and Carol and I have shoveled the walks and I have opened some space in front of our garage with the snowblower.  The remainder of the drive we will let Kevin, our snow plow operator, take care of after he has finished his other 100 or so driveways.  We have been in touch with our three kids to make sure they are surviving the storm.  Both our boys worked the night-shift last evening and made it home safely.  Carol called our daughter in Urbana, MD and she reported 19" on the ground already, but our granddaughters had shoveled their deck and made a place on the rear lawn for Rocco, their dog, to play and take care of business.

Doesn't seem to bother the birds.
Carol took the yardstick out on our deck and measured the accumulation at 12".  Just finished lunch after we both took showers to warm from the cold air.  Weatherman declared this a Nor'easter, since the wind has picked up to 21 MPH.  Ready for a nap, so keep warm if you are in the vicinity and if you happen to be in a nice warm climate or on a beach somewhere, think of me.  I'd love to be with you.  It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
