The state bird is a nene - not a chicken.
ReplyDeleteRod, I guess I shouldn't have put that statement under my photo without telling people the real story. All of our tour guides during our vacation told us, laughingly, that the state bird was the chicken. Seems that the chickens are everywhere leading to the comments of the tour guides. I do realize that the Nene is the state bird. The species of the goose with the beautiful features and black head is a grand bird.
