It was an ordinary day. My grandson and I just finished our first day of spreading the hugh pile of mulch around the gardens of my home. We, or should I say "He" works at a good pace, but eventually we both finally got tired and decided to wait until the next day to continue the job. Life's short so take some time off and have a good time doing something you enjoy from time to time. One of my fun things to do is read "quotes" that appear on my computer from time to time. I recently read a column that had 16 quotes on finding the humor in life. A few were dumb, a few were stupid and the rest appear as my story for today. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did...
It must be around forty, when you're 'over the hill.' I don't even know what that means and why it's a bad thing. When I go hiking and I get over the hill, that means I'm past the hard part and there's a snack in my future waiting for me. That's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in one's own sunshine.
Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun.
A good laugh overcomes more difficulties and dissipates more dark clouds than any other one thing.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
It's your outlook on life that counts. If you take yourself lightly and don't take yourself to seriously, pretty soon you can find the humor in our everyday lives. And sometimes it can be a lifesaver.
Life goes by fast. Enjoy it. Calm down. It's all fun.
So...follow some of the quotes that I have included in today's story and perhaps you will find life to be a bit easier to live. I try to take myself lightly as many times as I can, and find I'm so much happier because of it. It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
