It was an ordinary day. Trying to ID my flower and foliage photos from my last vacation to the Turks and Caicos islands. Always tough job, since I can never find any sites on the Internet that help with the IDs. Most of the islands in the Caribbean have the same or similar types of flowers, but there are always a few different that you can never find the names for them. Anyway, out of the 40 or so photos I took of flowers, I have chosen about 20 that I thought you want to see because of the beauty of the plants. I did not try to ID them for you, since that wouldn't make them look any better. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking the photos of them. It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy. PS - check the poem at the end!
And, on this Thanksgiving Day, LDubs family wishes you and your family the joy of the Holiday, and will end with a poem from the newspaper column "Annie's Mailbox." Here goes:
'Twas the Night of Thanksgiving
but I couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards.
I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned -
the dark meat and white.
but I fought the temptation
with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen,
flung open the door
and gazed at the fridge,
full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
till all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
floating into the sky,
with a mouthful of pudding
and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell
as I soared past the trees .....
Happy Eating to all!
Pass the cranberries, please!
