It was an ordinary day; September 12, 2001 and I had just closed the front door behind me after picking up the daily morning newspaper off my front porch. Just had to see what was in the paper that was related to the previous day's plane crashes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. September 12 was a Wednesday, and the headline told the entire story about the terrorist attacks and the thousands who were feared dead. If you're like me, you never got over what happened that awful day 20 years ago. Just can't believe someone or some persons could do such a despicable act. I'm positive they all rotted in Hell for what they did. I recently found the six Lancaster New Era, Lancaster Intelligencer Journal and Sunday News editions that I had saved telling about the terrorist attacks on The United States. So sad to read about the attack, but I couldn't put the papers back in the cabinet until I had read every story that was published. The attack was the worst thing that ever happened during my lifetime and hopefully will never happen again. Story after story told the tale of terrorism against our country and how we coped with the terror and grief that was created by the bombings. Many heroes died that day as well as many heroes stepped to the front of the line. I hope I get the chance to live through another September 11 next year and read the stories once again. Brings out the pride in our country. Check out the newspaper covers which I had saved and you will see the timeline from September 11, 2001. It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
