The "True Friend Marg: Part II" Story

It was an ordinary day.  Hope you enjoyed the story I posted yesterday about my wife's long-time friend Marg.  When Carol first met Marg she and her husband were living in the city of Lancaster, PA. Wasn't long before they moved to the city of Lititz which is north of Lancaster.  Neat little town that I have documented in these stories I write.  They became unhappy in Lititz and moved to Landisville.  That house was larger and sported a swimming pool in the back yard which Carol and I enjoyed along with Marg and her husband.  They again became unhappy with the house and now live in a home near Manheim, PA which they helped design and which is in a neighborhood for people over 50.  Throughout all the moves Carol and Marg continued to visit with one another and Marg continued to amaze us with her artwork.  She kind of takes her talent for granted and doesn't realize how good an artist she really is and how good she could become.  And, I don't think that's going to happen.  So, I am happy to share with you a few more of her works on paper as well as a few of her works on stone which she has done.  After a visit to New England last year to eat lobster, she came back with a large collection of dark-washed stones which she hand picked along the coast.  The stones are for her paintings with acrylics which she does.  A few years ago she tried a few paintings on rocks and put them for sale at the annual Lititz Crafts Show.  She sold a few, but didn't pursue the project beyond that point.  For Christmas this year she gave Carol a set of 4 washed-stones that she had painted depicting the birth of Jesus.  I have included these as well as a few other rocks that she has given Carol over the years.  Hope you enjoy the artwork that follows.  It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.

This was on a tag that Marg had created for a present she gave my wife.  Inside said: "These imperfect socks.... should still keep you feet warm!"  Artwork is in pen and ink and watercolor.

This tall narrow card was a Get-Well card that  Marg created with markers.

Final card bears the likeness of ....... guess?  Pen and ink rendering with colored pencils says inside:  Soooooo..... It Could Be Worst......  I Could Be Your New Vice President!"  It was a "Get Well" card that Marg made for Carol.

First rock that Marg gave to Carol as a gift.  It is painted with acrylics.

This rock has two Ragged Anne characters on it and was done with acrylics.

This collection of stones from New England carry the acrylic paintings of an Angel, Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus.  Carol and I both love them.

Marg thinks that Carol and I lay like this while at the beach so she depicted it on a rock for us.   You know it can't be us because we don't have a blanket like that!  Also, I always lay on my back when tanning.  Titled St. Martins on the bottom and done in acrylics.
