The "Checking the Webcams" Story
It was an ordinary day. They sometimes seem to blend together, don't they? Shower, shave, brush the teeth and head down to feed the indoor cat and the outdoor cat. Then it's off to the computer to check the emails. Usually takes a few minutes to delete the dozen or so junk items and read the rest. Over the past week or so I have been asking loads of senders to take me off their mailing list, but for every one I delete off the list, a few more pop up. Where do they all come from? Then I usually check the two travel forums that I read and finally check the four webcams to see what the weather is like in St. Martin and Anguilla, some of my favorite islands. The webcam in Anguilla is on Meads Bay Beach, one of the island's most wide, expansive and visually impressive beaches. It is located on the north-western coast of the island. One of the webcams on St. Martin is located on Orient Bay Beachwhich is the most developed, most popular and the busiest beach on the island, probably the most famous beach in the entire Caribbean. It is located on the French side of the island. The beach is reputed as much for its natural beauty and setting as it is for being the island´s foremost swimsuit optional beach. The webcam is maintained and located in the Club Orient or south section of the beach. This is the nude section of the beach. Another webcam can be found at the Simpson Bay Resort and Marina which is on the Dutch side of the island. It faces towards the airport so you can see the jets arrive. The last webcam is located near the Great Bay Cruise Terminal near Philipsburg, which is the capital of the Dutch side of the island. From all webcams you can check the wind, water movement and whether it is sunny or cloudy. Also can see how busy the beaches may be. Since we will travel to St. Martin soon, I like to see how much sand there is on the beach. Bad weather can mean a smaller beach. I have included the web addresses for both the webcams so you can get a look at some of the best and most famous beaches in the Caribbean as well as the world. Enjoy the water! It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
