It was an ordinary day. Sitting in my lounge chair watching television. As I looked left, toward our sunroom, I saw one of our many large seashells that we have collected while on one of our many Caribbean trips. The sun illuminated it and made it look even larger than what it really is. I can still remember buying that particular shell after arriving home from Pinel Island, which is part of the island St. Martin. The shell was beautiful and I knew I would never find a shell that large that was perfect, so I bought the shell from the vendor who sat in the parking lot every day. To this day, I'm not sure it was a shell that he had found on the island, or brought from another nearby island, but it really didn't matter, so I purchased it. As I continued to stare at it, and the outdoor light began to change, it took on a totally different personna. It now looked as if it were the head of a person. The shadows produced a pointed chin on the bottom with a few wrinkles in the mouth area with an open mouth showing the small lips. Directly above the open mouth was a pointed nose that stood away from the rest of the face. Directly behind the nose was a fairly pointed cheek bone. Directly above the cheek bone was the eye with the eyelid raising above the eye. To the top of all of that was the forehead or perhaps what looked to be a soft hat that sat on the head of the person. Now...the rest of my family has a very hard time trying to imagine what I have just written. How about you? Can you see what I see? Please tell me I'm not crazy? Now, I know I shouldn't have typed it that way, since many people do think I'm crazy from time to time, but that's another story to be dealt with! It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.
