It was an ordinary day. Weather was nice so I thought I would head over to Long's Park which is a hop, skip and a jump from my new home at Woodcrest Villas. I have been making visits to the park for as long as I can remember. My parents would often take my brother, Steve, and I to the park to see the fish that swam in the park lake. Also enjoyed riding the swings and going down the huge sliding board they had near one of the many pavilions that filled the park for those who enjoyed bringing their noon or evening meals to the park. Quite a few years ago they added a big "band shelter" where concerts would draw large crowds during the summer months. I have written several stories about my experiences at the park and today I thought I would add a few more photographs to show you what a nice place the park is to visit during any season of the year. If you live in the Lancaster area, I'm sure you have made many visits to the park, but for those not familiar with Lancaster, you are more than welcome to visit Long's Park and have a picnic lunch or perhaps visit when there might be a craft fair or a Sertoma take-out meal. It was another extraordinary day in the life of an ordinary guy.

One of the many playgrounds that are in the park as well as a mulch site for the city of Lancaster. A "Be Kind" sign for all visitors to the park. No matter what language you speak...you will find "Be Kind" in your language.
